Stem Cell Facelift

Stem Cell facelift represents a process whereby the hidden genetic potential of adult stem cells is awakened. Human fat has been shown to be an excellent source of adult stem cells. By transplanting carefully harvested autologus   (your own) fat, we eliminate any potential for an allergic reaction. During the procedure, both the donor and the recipient sites are pre-treated with growth factors. This important step leads to greatly improved “take” of the transplanted fat.

Introducing the “Stem Cell Facelift,”
Complete Facial Rejuvenation offers a Cost-Effective Alternative to Surgery

Over the decades, multiple procedures have been presented for rejuvenation of the face, most of them stressing the need for extensive surgery in the form of a facelift. In the last 10 years, use of temporary fillers has become a very popular avenue for temporary rejuvenation, or at least for creating the illusion of a younger, more rested, facial appearance.

Now, with the advent of stem cell technology and a wealth of information about the aging process, a revolutionary new procedure, termed a “Stem Cell Facelift” was created the world renowned anti-aging physician and plastic surgeon Vincent Giampapa, MD, FACS. The procedure was presented in Paris on October 17th at the World Academy of Anti-Aging and Cosmetic Medicine.

The “Stem Cell Facelift” is a complete facial rejuvenation procedure withoutinvolving any surgery.  The procedure, which Dr. Giampapa has been performing for the last 4 years, restores the youthful contour and shape of the face as well as skin tightness, and evens out color irregularities caused by the aging process and environmental sun exposure.

Although fat grafting to the face has been known and utilized for over a decade with a varying amount of success, this new approach, of transplanting “Adult Stem Cells” and fat from the lower abdominal area, and awakening them as well as the local stem cells within the face with specific stem cell growth factors, is a revolutionary technique to facial rejuvenation.

The patients treated have exhibited marked improvement not only in the underlying soft tissue contours of the face but the skin itself.  These specific “Stem Cell Growth Factors” induce the skin and fatty layers to produce more of their own cells.  The Factors stimulate or initiate “a signal” to both the local stem cells within the skin and fat as well as the transplanted adult stem cells from the lower abdomen to multiply and restore themselves.

Adult Stem Cells, are now known to be a source for producing other “hormone-like” substances to enhance both skin quality and the underlying subcutaneous- fatty tissues of the cheeks, the mid face and the skin in general.  The result is a long-term marked improvement that enhances both skin quality as well as the underlying youthful contours of the face.

The procedure is accomplished under local anesthesia in about an hour in the office setting.  This is a procedure that avoids the need for a hospital trip and general anesthesia.  Recovery time takes about a week.  At the end of this time, light powder and makeup is easily applied, and the results document an extremely natural, full rested facial contour.

The “Stem Cell Facelift” may also eliminate the need for ongoing facial “filler” injections like Restylane, Juvederm and the other hyaluronic acid fillers.  The improvement of the skin frequently eliminates the need for Botox for many patients as well.

Facial PRP-A Safe and Natural Alternative to Plastic Surgery

Here at Gecko Joint and Spine we pride ourselves on being the premier center for all things rejuvenation. We are at the forefront of this exciting new field called biological medicine, constantly exploring and developing the latest, most effective treatments available in this phenomenal new realm of medicine.

Inherent within this powerful treatment is the ability to rejuvenate and restore the youthful appearance of our body, including the face. One of these treatments gaining recognition in both the medical and lay community, is a procedure performed using the platelet rich plasma (PRP) in a patient’s own blood to repair the skin. This process is only one of the many ways in which biologic medicine is revolutionizing contemporary treatment options and posing plastic surgery alternatives to discerning surgeons and patients

Biologic medical procedures: cutting-edge technology, all-natural results

Biologic medical technology enables us to perform plastic surgery procedures without the use of synthetic fillers or invasive surgery, and our processes yield safe, natural and effective results for the face and body you desire. We offer the following treatments using biologic principles:
Fat Injection & Fat Transfer: This facial rejuvenation procedure uses excess fat cells from the patient’s own body to plump and refresh sagging or thinning skin around the lips, cheeks, chin, temples and under the eyes. As a natural alternative to surgical facelift procedures and injectable fillers, this process is ideal for patients who wish to regain a more youthful appearance without undergoing invasive surgery or filling their body with foreign chemicals.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Skin Therapy: PRP skin regeneration, as detailed in throughout this site, involves the use of growth factors in the patient’s own blood to revive skin and reverse signs of aging. This procedure offers another alternative to conventional injectables and reflects the latest in biologic medical technology

The rejuvenation that occurs with our treatments, simply allows for the restoration of our natural appearance without giving the appearance of being “plastic”, which is an unfortunate result of standard plastic surgery. The results are permanent, however as the aging process continues so does the need for future treatments. We approach each case on an individual basis and the number of treatments recommended, varies depending on a number of factors including age and severity of degradation.

We look forward to sharing the gift of regenerative medicine with you. Call us today at 941-330-8553

Platelet Rich Plasma Facial Indications

Indications: Expected Effects in Cosmetic Medicine

Efficacy of PRP

It
is effective particularly for inducing skin regeneration, the therapy
is also effective in treating wrinkles, acne marks, sags, and wrinkles
on the neck.

Interaction
between PRP and white blood cells results in the release of growth
factors that potentiate the natural healing power and tissue
reorganization potential at injection sites and subsequent regeneration
of the skin.

In
conventional therapy, it takes about two months for any benefit to be
seen, although the time varies among individuals. PRP Skin Regeneration
Therapy produces noticeable symptomatic improvement in a short period of
about two weeks.

Conventional procedures PRP Skin Regeneration Therapy
Enrichment of platelets About two-fold About six- to ten-fold
(three to five times that for conventional procedures)
Time to benefit About two months About two weeks
(one-fourth that for conventional procedures)
White blood cells Little or no WBC Appropriate amount of WBC

PRP
Skin Regeneration Therapy uses components called platelets contained in
the blood. Platelets play a role in stopping bleeding and repairing
damaged blood vessels and cells in the body. Platelets contain
substances called growth factors that activate and rejuvenate cells in
the body. The growth factors, when released, induce the production of
collagen and generation of new capillaries to rejuvenate the skin.

Action of Growth Factors of Platelets

As described previously, skin
regeneration with PRP is based on the mechanism that platelets release a
variety of growth factors to promote tissue repair, angiogenesis, and
collagen production for skin rejuvenation.

Skin Rejuvenation with PRP

Injection of Platelet Component (PRP) ?????(PRP)???

The aged skin has less collagen, low elasticity, reduced
amount of hyaluronic acid, and low ability to retain moisture.

Release of Growth Factors From Platelet Component (PRP) Release of Growth Factors From Platelet Component (PRP)

Cell growth is activated, and collagen is produced.

Regeneration and Rejuvenation of Skin Tissue Regeneration and Rejuvenation of Skin Tissue

Collagen is produced, and skin elasticity is improved. The ability to retain moisture is restored.

PRP
Skin Regeneration Therapy is expected to provide great benefit. The
therapy uses the patient’s own blood for rejuvenation and thus poses no
risk of infection or allergy. It has the advantage of a longer duration
of efficacy compared with injection of hyaluronic acid and collagen that
are absorbed into the body. Other features such as no need for skin
incision and short downtime (swelling usually resolves in two to three
hours) make this therapy a safe treatment.

Specific treatment Injection of platelet-rich plasma containing autologous
white blood cells collected from the blood. Use of regenerative power of
the skin.
Injection of medical-grade hyaluronic acid or collagen for
maintenance of firm skin, or injection of Botox to reduce the movement
of muscles.
Benefit Crepy skin under the eyes, fine wrinkles in the face, nasolabial grooves, acne marks, sagged skin, etc Nip and tuck for fine wrinkles in the whole face, wrinkles
on the neck and hands, nasolabial grooves, wrinkles between the eyebrows
and forehead, expression wrinkles at the corner of the eyes, chin,
nose, etc.
Adverse reaction Infections and allergy do not occur because the patient’s own blood components are used. Unlikely to occur.
Effective period About 1 year Absorbed in about 0.5 to 1year
Re-injection The blood is not absorbed, and thus repeated injections are not necessary (additional injection is allowed). Repeated injections are necessary because those agents are absorbed into the body.
Costs for 1 session 1 site(6cc): $650 Hyaluronic acid:$1000
Botox: $600 or more
